St Brigid´s Fire

St Brigid came to be known throughout Ireland for her dedication to, and  love for, the poor and oppressed. Her efforts were tireless on  their behalf .

St Brigid stands today, as she did in the 5th century, as a beacon of hope for those whose lives are consumed by hopelessness. As long as her fire burned on the hillside of Kildare, people knew that Brigid would do whatever was possible for them. Hope spread among a people when they saw the light of St Brigids Fire.

Inspired by the fire of St Brigid's love and empowered by the Light of Christ, the members of St Brigid's Fire, the St Vincent de Paul Team and the Senior Social Justice Team, strive to be a beacon of hope to the hopeless, reaching out with love to embrace the vunerable among us today. We seek opportunities to make a difference through direct service and indirect action on behalf of the poor, the marginalized, the lonely, the ill, the aged, and the oppressed members of God's family. We know we cannot do everything, but we can do something. We strive to reflect the light and power of Christ to change lives and build the Kingdom of God.
